Whitewater rafting on American River

Where the action is!

Troop 80 is a high-adventure troop so it’s not for everyone. We’re looking for the adventurous, the courageous, the brave who want to boldly go anywhere we can pitch a tarp tent. Where do we go? What do we do?

  • Backpacking 30 to 50 miles in Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Lassen Volcanic National Parks, to name a few.
  • Whitewater rafting on the north fork of the American River.
  • Camping at Scout Island on Castle Air Force Base, Bodega Bay and Point Reyes, to name only a few.
  • Build snow caves, quinzzies and having a ton-of-fun in the Sierra Nevada.
  • Rock climbing at Pinnacles and Joshua Tree National Parks.
  • Mountain biking at Grant Ranch county park.
  • Spelunking Moaning Caverns.

Sound interesting?

Adventure is out there so we get “out” there as much as parents allow.

Learn more about Troop 80. We invite you to our weekly Monday night troop meetings. Here are two versions of our invitation letter:

  1. Letter to scout recruits; and
  2. Letter to parents.

Recruiter-patch

When you join Troop 80 and bring a friend who signs-up and stays active for more than six months, you score stuff. You’ll be awarded this nifty “Recruiter” patch to put on your uniform and a really cool Troop 80 tool from ASM Fitch.
