Troop 80 serves it up at Hotel de Zink

Serving our community is a privilege and Troop 80 takes it seriously, well, it’s fun to serve, let’s put it that way. Service is a large component of who Troop 80 is.

Each year, 12 Palo Alto area churches host the homeless so they have a place to sleep that is indoors and a hot meal. Each year, Troop 80 volunteers to make a hot, nutritious meal for the homeless on the last week in February for Wesleyan Methodist Church.

This is so popular, the troop has had to limit the service to only six or seven scouts because the kitchen can’t hold many more than that. If the scouts want to eat with the homeless, and they do every year, it’s only $5.

This year, it was also one scout’s birthday so there was chocolate cake for everyone.

Troops clean up and leave the leftovers for anyone who comes after they leave.
