Letter to Scout Recruits, Recruiting

Welcome new scout recruits

(Letter written by scouts for scout recruits)

Have you ever wanted to sleep in a snow cave?

Do you like to hike in the woods or canoe/kayak in rivers?

Would you like to learn about plants and animals, first aid, or shooting a 12-gauge shotgun?

Does cooking on a camp stove in the wilderness, then sleeping under the stars (no tarp or tent) sound like fun?

Would you feel proud to wear a sharp uniform decorated with symbols of your accomplishments for everyone to see?

Do you want to learn how to be a leader?

If your answers are YES, we invite you to come check out Troop 80, “Where the action is.” We meet in Mountain View at the First Presbyterian Church Monday nights from 7:30-9 p.m.

Here is what sets us apart from other troops

  • Boys lead the boys and the adults make sure no one gets hurt when something explodes.
  • We play a game a every meeting.
  • We have almost 60 years worth of traditions, like the “Silver Spoon Award,” presented to the patrol with the best food on a campout.
  • We are small, between 20 and 30 boys.
  • We treat every campout as if it were a backpacking trip

Check out this website to learn more about us today and our 60-year history in the Mountain View area. To sign up, visit our scout recruitment page.

80, 80, GO 80!
