When you combine new scouts with experienced scouts, that’s where the learning happens and the fun begins. This year’s snow trip took place at Sugar Pine recreational area. Snow crew 2017 was busy building quinzzies, carving out snow caves and campfire area and more.
Scouts learn how to have a safe, fun time in adverse conditions. They prepared winter-weather menus, held backpack inspections ensuring everyone had proper equipment and clothing, and figured out car assignments since scouts had to be picked up Friday right after school on President’s Day weekend.
This kind of trip builds confidence in scout skills because they learn new skills or teach them. Either way, learning and reaffirmation of scout skills takes place helping the scouts to grow their leadership skills.
The photos tell the story.
